Cafe Lingo

Cafe Lingo is one way Promenade Methodist Church "Welcomes The Stranger".

It is an English Language Cafe which aims to support newcomers to the Isle of Man for whom English is not their first language by teaching English in a relaxed way, and by helping them to learn more about day-to-day life on the Isle of Man.

It is open to all – any nationality, age, faith (or no faith) or level of ability. Students can bring their children, as well. Refreshments are provided, and there is no charge, so that no one is disadvantaged on financial grounds.

Our lessons are on Saturday mornings, from 10.15 to 1145, in the top hall of Promenade Methodist Church. We also have mid-week Meet and Chat from 10.30 to 11.30 on the first Wednesday of the month in the Windsor Coffee Co coffee shop.

In the past three years we have had over two hundred students from about forty countries.
