Announcement: Isle of Man Methodist Church Census day 1st September 2026

The Data Protection Officer, Louise Whitelegg, has written to all Methodist Church Councils in the Isle of Man District as she undertakes a Census or Audit of the personal details which we hold.

This exercise is to ensure that the Church has up to date and accurate records in its database. Having up to date records is not only essential to comply with legislation but also ensures that you are receiving the correct information, are able to vote appropriately and to help us to communication more efficiently.

The census consists of three sections.

  • Sheet 1:   A summary sheet of the roles within the church to be completed with the names of the post holders. This is for the church council / church secretary to complete and is a list of all the church's officers.
  • Sheet 2: A form to give to each role holder to complete with their permission. This is an individual sheet for the name, email address, telephone number and an explanation of what this information is for.
  • Sheet 3:  A general mailing sign up sheet for congregations.  This section is for members of the congregation or friends of the Church that would be interested in receiving periodic information from the Isle of Man Methodist church by way of special events and updates.
  • A copy of the covering letter can be downloaded here

We are asking all Churches to complete this on or around the 1st of September (as soon as is practical) to capture any new people or changes of position for the new Methodist year.

The documents mentioned can be downloaded from this website, using the hyperlinks embedded in the text above.
