The Harvest is one of the most loved and anticipated events of the year up at the Howe chapel. The chapel is decorated in the week before with donations of fruit, veg and flowers.
On the Sunday morning (11am) the Sunday School usually lead the service with songs including one where each child brings something to the Harvest table. Other favourites include "eggs and apples in my trolley" which can get very inventive and lots of fun!! The older scholars read harvest poems and the younger children often take part in some sort of interactive reading.
In the evening (6.30pm) we have our evening service where the children also take part alongside whoever is preaching. This is followed by tea and cake.
On the Monday evening we have our annual visit from the Lon Dhoo male voice choir. It is always a lovely evening and is followed by sandwiches, trifle and crumble.
All welcome!
