Hurricane Melissa

From our District Chair, Rev Janet:

You will have seen the disaster unfolding in the news as Hurricane Melissa hit several islands in the Caribbean. The Methodist Church in the Caribbean and the Americas(MCCA) is right there on the ground amongst the devastation caused by Hurricane Melissa – in Jamaica, but also in Haiti and Cuba. You can find a letter from the MCCA Connexional President Bishop Juan Simpson here:

Pictured here is a poster giving a link for giving to the joint appeal from the Methodist Church with 'All We Can'.
Bishop Juan was in the Isle of Man this summer – and attended Tynwald Day as well as preaching at Trinity. Please pray for him as he leads the church response in this area. I would urge chapels to increase awareness of the appeal – and to give as they are able.
Grace and peace
Janet
