Lent Walks 2026

Have you planned to do something new for Lent?

You may like to try joining Rev Janet and friends on one or more of the Monday morning Lent Walks during the weeks of Lent.

Lent is the period of six weeks (40 days not including Sundays) leading up to Easter, which is the most important festival in the Christian calendar. Lent starts on Ash Wednesday. The last week of Lent is called Holy Week. In 2026 Lent begins on Wednesday 18 March. Lent is an old English word meaning 'lengthen'. Lent is observed in spring, when the days begin to get longer.

The first walk will be on Monday 23rd February, meeting at Christ Church, Laxey at 9:45 am and setting off to Agneash promptly at 10:00 am. Along the way there will be opportunity for fellowship, conversation and contemplation.
In following weeks the group will visit significant locations around the island, as set out on the poster. The dates are also shown in the Calendar section of this website.
