Free Film Night at Colby Methodist Chapel on Friday 3rd October at 7pm
The film which beautifully tells the story of the Colby River was commissioned by Arbory & Rushen Commissioners and supported by Culture Vannin. It charts the history of the river, from where it reaches the sea at Kentraugh to its source on the slopes of Cronk ny Arrey Laa. The film features interviews, song, poetry, the rich history of the river, and some superb drone footage. It is based on the signed walk the Commissioners launched in 2023 which captures snippets of local history in words and pictures on boards along the route. This was based on an article written by the late Cecil McFee in 1979 which appeared in ManxLife in 1981.
It played to a packed house at the Erin Arts Centre in November 2024 which the film premiere (a world premiere indeed!).Tickets sold out in days.
This showing is free to attend with all donations collected on the night being put towards Chapel funds. Light refreshments will be served.
