Revd Richard Hooton

Supernumerary Minister 

Richard is a Supernumerary Minister who came to the island to retire in 2009. However he soon found himself acting in a pastoral role in the Douglas churches!

In 2026, he has now formally "sat down" from the active ministry, but still regularly leads services around the island.

Richard was born and brought up in Leicester and prior to coming to Mann served for 20 years in two East Midlands Circuits: Newark & Southwell, and Erewash Valley. Before entering ministry he was Shipping Manager for a large engineering company in Leicester. He trained at the former Anglican Theological College in Lincoln.
